PROGRAMS
Our mission is to create and support 1-to-1 mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful mentorship matches between volunteers and youth ages 6-20. We then provide the training, resources, and support necessary for those matches to succeed.
COMMUNITY BASED
This is our traditional match in which adult mentors are paired with youth and young adults ages 6-20, with the commitment to see each other at least 4 hours per month. Each match is hand-selected by our team based on shared interests, geography and personality. Matches plan their own outings filled with things they like to do, like sports, going to the beach or making music.
SITE BASED
Our site-based programs are very similar to our community-based program, except that our team plans and leads all match activities at a set location either in person on online. We have several distinct site-based programs – MentorU, Bigs In Tech, Big Brothers Big Sisters at Why Not You Academy, and School-Based Mentoring.

All prospective Littles for need and capacity for match success.

New volunteers through referral, marketing, social media, corporate partners and events.

INTERVIEW
All prospective Bigs and Littles to get to know their personality and interests. We also thoroughly background check all volunteers.

MATCH
A Big to a Little based upon multiple variables with a goal of creating a long-term friendship.
STEP
5
MONITOR & SUPPORT
Bigs and Littles as they navigate life and carefully monitor the matches for safety and longevity.
